Essential Job Duties:Research Technician will contribute to data collection on the impact of land use conversion from agriculture to solar facilities on pollinator populations. The assistant will be expected to travel to field sites and utilize multiple sampling methods for collecting data. The applicant will also be expected to identify resources that North Carolina pollinators use. Field work will require variable hours, sometimes long days, and working in hot and humid environments. Applicants must have demonstrated experience working outside in hot environments, conducting field work in North Carolina, collecting insect specimens, identifying plant species, identifying pollinator species in North Carolina through both the use of visual identification and lab identification tools, creating pollen slides, and identifying plant species through pollen grains. The applicant must have documented experience working successfully in independent settings.
