Austin Public Schools has a full-time opening for the position of Technology Support Technician
Class Summary:
Technology Support Technician Incumbents provide technical assistance in maintaining and troubleshooting computer hardware and software.
Typical Class Essential Duties:
1. Maintains the District's computer systems, which includes installing new software and upgrading existing applications.
2. Serves as first line of defense to provide basic technical assistance support to student and staff in a timely manner.
3. Performs maintenance, repair, and cleaning of computer equipment.
4. Basic technical assistance, support, delivery, and set up of district computers.
5. Moves computers from location to location and sets up workstations for presentation, instructional needs, and related activities.
6. Installing, servicing, and maintaining audiovisual and computer equipment and provides instruction to others on the use of hardware and software.
7. Assist with the development of systems/plan for, inventory, repair records, equipment location, resource maintenance, and replacement/upgrade of technology equipment.
8. Assist in resolution of hardware, software, and network problems.
9. Collaborates with district staff to solve problems effectively.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
1. Demonstrated technical competencies in computer hardware and software.
2. Ability to foster and manage change.
3. Demonstrated abilities in organizational, human relations, oral and written communications skills.
4. Ability to work cooperatively with others and as a team member.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Two years of technology experience in supporting a Windows Operating System Environment.
2. Demonstrated technical competencies in computer hardware and software.
3. Valid Minnesota Driver License and clean driving record.
4. Ability to obtain technical certifications as required for necessary job functions.
Salary/Benefits: Annual Salary Range is according to education and experience. Also includes a competitive benefits package of paid time off, health insurance, life insurance, etc.
