About the job

Technical writers communicate complex information clearly, concisely and accurately, and without relying on jargon. As a Technical Writer, your role involves tasks such as writing conceptual overviews and procedures, reading and writing example code, or updating help center queries and FAQs. Technical writers play a big part at Google. They are a key link between engineers, marketing associates, developer advocates, as well as all the external users and developers, tying together many vital but disparate parts of the Google ecosystem.

You develop complex, in-depth communications for internal and external audiences and manage projects that involve coordinating multiple junior writers.

Our writers own the content experience for Workspace Admin and Enterprise end users. On the Google Workspace content team, you'll partner with experienced writers, program managers, and UX designers to enrich both the UI and help content across Workspace products (e.g., Gemini for Workspace (generative AI)).

Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. We deliver enterprise-grade solutions that leverage Google’s cutting-edge technology, and tools that help developers build more sustainably. Customers in more than 200 countries and territories turn to Google Cloud as their trusted partner to enable growth and solve their most critical business problems.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000-$185,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Learn more about benefits at Google.

Responsibilities

  • Plan for, research, and write clear, concise content designed to help admins navigate Google Workspace. Match content with the established tone and style, including the following the content types, help articles, multimedia, and UX writing for the Admin console.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally (e.g., Product Management, UX, Engineering, Go-to-Market, Legal) on content strategy, product knowledge, and feature roadmaps.
  • Access test accounts to test feature functionality and verify UI.
  • Prepare and publish help content using Connect Composer.
  • Use insights to inform content strategy and ongoing usability improvements.
