Base Salary: $66,000-82,000. Position eligible for additional incentives including bonus, 401k match, health and welfare benefits.
Hybrid, Monday-Friday, 3-days onsite, or as needed.
The position can be based in either San Diego, CA (La Jolla/UTC) or Atlanta, GA (near the Braves Stadium)

Our family of brands is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our Quality Assurance (QA) team. As part of this team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and clarity of our documentation related to various financial products and platforms that span our five business finance brands. You will be an employee of our holding company and work with technology teams from all of the brands: National Funding, Inc., Quickbridge Funding, LLC., Finova Capital, LLC., Moneyjet and SmallBusinessLoans.com. This highly collaborative role will focus on creating and maintaining technical documentation that adheres to industry standards and regulatory requirements while maintaining consistency across this business ecosystem.
General Summary:
The Technical Writer plays a key role on the Quality Assurance (QA) team, Delivery Managers (DM) and Business Analysts (BA). The position ensures the accuracy, consistency, and clarity of our documentation related to various financial software products, platforms, overall definitions, processes and standards. Your primary focus will be on creating and maintaining technical documentation that adheres to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with software developers, delivery managers, and subject matter experts to understand and document technical specifications, functionalities, and processes related to our financial products and platforms.
Produce high-quality technical documentation, including user guides, API documentation, release notes, and system manuals, that effectively communicates complex information to diverse audiences, such as developers, end-users, and stakeholders.
Review and edit documentation to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, and adherence to company standards and guidelines. Conduct thorough quality assurance checks to identify and address any errors or inconsistencies.
Follow industry regulations, compliance standards, and best practices relevant to financial technology documentation. Ensure that all documentation complies with regulatory requirements and follows established procedures for data security and privacy.
Continuously evaluate and enhance documentation processes, tools, and templates to streamline content creation, improve documentation quality, and enhance the overall user experience.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software development, quality assurance, product management, and customer support, to gather feedback, address documentation needs, and contribute to product enhancements and improvements.
Maintain consistency in terminology, style, and tone across all documentation to reinforce the company's brand identity and enhance the user experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Technical Writer in a software development or fintech environment, with a strong understanding of financial products and platforms.
Proficiency in documentation tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, or Atlassian Confluence.
Familiarity with Salesforce technology and experience documenting Salesforce-based applications is highly desirable.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, or SOC 2 is a plus.
Certification in technical writing or related fields is advantageous.
