Job Summary:
Manage Technical Training for all site employees. Build and maintain training documents, coordinate training plans with the help of supervision, conduct training, and track employee progress. Primary intent is to train production team members, but job scope includes maintenance personnel and day staff on certain tasks, like electrical troubleshooting. For production team members, this includes all aspects of the job, including basic and complex job duties, in all departments. Expected to set up structured training sessions with operators as well as flex to immediate training opportunities during equipment upsets. Work closely with EHS Manager to assist with safety training and onboard training as needed.
Job Duties:
- Oversee and manage the Technical Training program. Includes direct hands-on or classroom training and includes leveraging other Subject Matter Experts.
- Partner with department managers to maintain training plans for site personnel
- Work closely with department leads to train operations employees to safely and efficiently operate their lines and perform essential job duties
- Manage the certification of operations employees, maintenance employees, or day staff personnel in safe electrical troubleshooting
- Lead administrative duties to track progress of training goals. Drive each to completion
- Maintain library of written or video training modules for process lines and equipment
- Positively influence others, with a focus on safety and operating disciplines
- Assist with maintenance or day staff training as needed
- Assist with on-boarding new employees with a focus on general operator practices and safety protocols
- Assist with performing time studies of tasks and help identify bottlenecks
- Perform other job duties as necessary
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years industrial experience required, with a close familiarity with the process and equipment of the operation
- Must possess strong mechanical aptitude. Strength in electrical equipment is desired.
- Must possess strong understanding of equipment and processes and be able to clearly convey this knowledge to others
- Must possess strong leadership and coaching abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent level of initiative and drive
- Must have strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exceptional attention to detail and good follow-up skills
- Must possess good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interact in a professional manner with employees and vendors
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Additional computer skills are helpful.
- Willingness to work as team member or independently
