Trainer, Technical Instructor

The ABB University Instructor will be based in the Cleveland training facility and required to deliver structured in-center training classes, on-site classes at customer facilities, and blended learning classes using an internet meeting combined with virtual machines for lab exercises.

Your responsibilities

• Prepare classroom equipment & computer prior to assigned classes.
• Prep and pack equipment for on-site classes and ensure courseware is available for student distribution.
• Develop new courseware and maintain established courseware, as new products are released or updated to keep our delivery portfolio current.
• Provide technical support assistance, class preparation for other teaching resources and field service support when classes are not in their schedule.
• Integrate ABB’s standards of quality, safety and integrity into daily customer and coworker interaction.
• Travel may be required up to 20 percent.

Your background

• Degree in Engineering or Technology with basic electrical background/knowledge and minimum 2 years of power plant, process control configuration, or field service experience is required.
• Harmony/Symphony Plus experience is a plus.
• Comfortable with public speaking with a desire to help customers during class time and after class completion to ensure they receive adequate training to support their ABB system.
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
