Job Description
The purpose of the Family History Department is to create inspiring experiences that bring joy to all people as they discover, gather, and connect their family-past, present, and future. An internship position in Family History is a great opportunity for a person with knowledge of Family History and library systems. This position will be prominently working with reviewing Italian indexed records before publication.
Responsibilities
The main responsibility for this position will be review and correct the indexes created from Italian records to assure we can provide a high-quality searchable database to our Italian institutional partner. The job requires the capability of reading Italian historical records and understand the locality system in Italy. The job requires knowledge of using Microsoft Office EXCEL. Experience with the FamilySearch website is preferable. The ideal candidate will be someone who can work under strict parameters of quality standards and pre-determined time schedules and deadlines. A successful employee will be someone who can work alone as a contributor, manage their time efficiently, and drive themselves to meeting expectations required for team success.
Qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Italian language speaking proficiency and reading and writing abilities are a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete detailed work with accuracy.
  • Personal computer skills and demonstrated proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Must be committed to excellence and be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints worthy to hold a temple recommend.
  • Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.
