Intern Job Description
As a Comcast Intern in the Next Generation Access Networks (NGAN) Engineering team within TPX, you will be part of a team that is building next generation access network which will help deliver HSD, Voice and Video services. The software applications we are building is a containerized, microservice-based, cloud-deployed services. We are looking for talented individuals that will work on applications to automate configuration generation, software deployment and troubleshooting. These applications are intended to run on our lab systems as well as on our production systems.
The position immerses an intern into the daily operations of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast's top innovators, who are building a faster interaction with the internet for our customers using containerized, microservice-based, cloud-deployed services.
In this role, you can expect to be part of solving problems that directly impacts customer services and see a tangible difference with your deliverable and at the same time have a lot of fun learning all the latest cool tech stuff with a great team.
Job Responsibilities
Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Do the necessary research and provide design options to problem solving.
• Thorough self-review and impact analysis before putting out deliverables for external review.
• Align with coding/design practices/standards set out by the team.
• Provide timely updates on the assigned work items.
• Be proactive in looking out for new assignments.

Preferred Skills

• Preferred Majors: Computer Science, Information Technology
• Great design and problem-solving skills, with a strong bias for architecting at scale.
• 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA preferred.
• Experience in programming (Python, Javascript, Golang, Java)
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming, data structure and algorithm design
• Experience in Test-driven development/test automation, continuous integration, and deployment automation
• Great design and problem-solving skills, with a strong bias for architecting at scale
• Adaptable, proactive, and willing to take ownership.
• Good communicator, able to analyze and clearly articulate complex issues and technologies understandably and engagingly.

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree from a United States-based college or university
• Rising Junior or Rising Senior with an anticipated graduation date of December 2024, Spring 2025, December 2026 or Spring 2026.
• Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship
• Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs.
• Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program.
• Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting. Internship roles will be office-based with no virtual offerings.
• Recommended GPA: 3.0 (candidates will be evaluated on overall skills, education, and experience)

Compensation
Base Pay: $32.00
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
