The Brearley School, an independent girls' school serving over 770 students K-12, welcomes candidates for an ongoing position as Teacher of French in the Middle and Upper Schools starting August 2024. Depending on enrollment, the position can fluctuate between part-time 60% (three classes), part-time 80% (four classes), or full-time (five classes). The position will be full-time in 2024-25.

The ideal candidate will have:
- a bachelor's degree in the subject area
- native or near-native proficiency in French and a genuine passion for teaching it
- at least three years of teaching experience at the middle and/or high school levels
- a strong interest in the use of technology in the classroom
- competence in inclusive, anti-bias, anti-racist pedagogy
- the ability to help students think independently and develop confidence in their own abilities
- excellent communication skills
- the willingness to collaborate
- a collegial spirit and a positive attitude.

Salary
In 2023-24, the total full-time salary for this position ranges from $75,100 to $143,500 depending on experience. This position may fluctuate between 60%, 80% or 100% from year to year depending on enrollment; salary will adjust accordingly. Salary ranges updated annually at the end of January.
