Position: We invite applications for the position of Visiting Professor of Dance Education, open rank, for a two-year term, AY2024-2025 and 2025-2026. As the sole Ed.D. doctoral program in the U.S. dedicated to preparing teacher educators, educational researchers, and leaders committed to policy transformation in Dance Education, we are rapidly growing and seeking an outstanding full-time faculty colleague with early career promise in the field to join our doctoral community. We are recruiting candidates with a demonstrated record of empirical, social-science oriented Dance Education research, multi-modal and student-centered teaching, community-based leadership experience, and a record of advancing preK-12 Dance Education, social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Applicants with international experience and networks are highly desirable.

The EdD Dance Education Program supports an international community of dance educators who celebrate diverse dance traditions and aim to transform the next generation of dance educators and policy makers through impactful work. The doctoral program dovetails with the Arnhold Institute for Dance Education Research, Policy & Leadership, whose mission is to conduct policy-relevant Dance Education research that seeks to eliminate disparities and transform educational environments for children, families, and PK-12 communities. Supported by the newly constructed Arnhold Dance Education Research Studios, we are eager to recruit a Dance Education colleague with an existing record of innovative Dance Education research. Special consideration will be given to scholars whose research is embodied, indigenous, antiracist, feminist, queer, arts-based, youth participatory and/or action research and that aims to transform dance learning, uplift marginalized populations, and engender interdisciplinary discourse. Ideal candidates will also be able to teach and research across disciplinary boundaries in the arts and humanities.
Candidates will be expected to be actively involved and productive in research and grant development, teach four courses annually, advise doctoral student research, administer community-based programming, actively collaborate with colleagues in program development, implementation, and evaluation, and provide service to the profession.
Rank: Visiting Professor, open rank, two-year term.
Salary: Up to $120k commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
Earned doctorate in Dance Education or closely related field with a promising record of scholarly contributions to the field of Dance Education .
A demonstrated record of supporting culturally responsive curricula, and the ability to teach graduate courses in one or more of the following areas: adult learning, curriculum design, dance assessment, Dance Education history, dance and human development, dance leadership, dance and Dance Education research methods, dance teacher preparation, embodied learning, and literature review.
Preference will be given to early career candidates who contribute diverse epistemologies and methodological practices to the existing faculty expertise.
