Tax Preparer

CSI Group, LLP is growing! We are looking for an energetic, go-getters to join our expanding team. CSI Group is an Accounting Firm with several locations in NJ, NY, DC and FL. The position will be based in Wall Twp, NJ. This is an IN-PERSON position.

Seeking to interview anyone with experience preparing individual or business tax returns.

Tax Preparer is responsible for submitting tax forms on behalf of clients to pay the appropriate amount and maximize the client’s return. Their duties include reviewing client’s documents about their income and expenses, auditing account details and acting as a liaison between clients and the IRS.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review all relevant financial records, including pay stubs, income/financial statements, property information, etc to ensure we have all documents to accurately proceed
• Inputting data from financial records into tax return software and update client database on progress
• Using applicable federal, state and local tax law to determine deductions and how much each client will pay or earn on the return
• Completing and filing tax documents with appropriate agencies, like the IRS, state and local government entities
• Acting as a representative for clients with applicable agencies as required
• Communicate with customers pertaining to any missing information, explanation of payments owed (if applicable)
• Assist in filling extensions, if needed, on the client’s behalf
• Complete notices from the IRS received by client on the client’s behalf
• Communicate regularly with Tax Manager on department open items and assist as directed

Requirements:

• High school diploma.
• 1+ years experience in a relevant field.
• Ability to stay calm when customers are stressed or upset.
• Comfortable using computers.
• Experience working with customer support.
• Good command of English.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office Word and Excel.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to concentrate for lengthy periods and perform accurately with adequate speed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
