Job description

The Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) is responsible for full life cycle recruiting: recruiting, screening, and recommending placement of staff by using creative sourcing methods (internal and external). The TAS is also responsible for interviewing, testing, and referring applicants for clerical, technical, clinical, administrative and management positions throughout the company. This position must possess considerable skill in interviewing techniques, a good knowledge of all clerical and specialized functions in the company, a basic understanding of the company's organizational structure as well as an extensive knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.
Performance Responsibilities and Standards:

  1. Process job requisitions and post both internally and externally
  2. Coordinates with HR team to determine best recruiting processes for open position(s).
  3. Acts as liaison between area employment agencies and job boards organization is utilizing.
  4. Uses traditional and nontraditional resources, to identify and attract quality candidates.
  5. Screens and interviews applicants by reviewing resumes and job applications and performing phone screens.
  6. Use creative communication strategies to engage passive candidates in interest for new roles within the company
  7. Coordinates all appropriate employment testing and conducts employment verifications.
  8. Extends both verbal and written contingent job offers.
  9. Coordinates background checks and new-hire drug testing.
  10. Maintains employee referral program.
  11. May assists in orientation of new employees.
  12. Follows up with the related clerical aspects of employment, such as completing of health, employment, and insurance forms, notifying the department of employee's starting date and the requisition the employee is filling, etc.
  13. Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

Requirements:
  • Associates degree required (or at least 5 years' experience recruiting); Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years recruiting experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and telephone skills.
  • Knowledge of Boolean Searching Method preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Computer knowledge required (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Organized and highly motivated, ability to multi-task
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or any recruiting certifications a plus.

Physical Requirements:
  1. Ability to sit/stand 90% of the day.
  2. Speaking/visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend and express written/verbal communication.
  3. Frequent sitting, standing, walking
  4. Extended periods of computer use
  5. Ability to express self verbally and in writing.
  6. Ability to verbally communicate over a telephone
