Within Honeywell Aerospace, CNS (Communication,Navigation, Surveillance) is responsiblefor the innovation, development, certification and design ofelectronic Aerospace products related to communication, radio navigation andsafe aircraft operation.

The Navigational Radios - Radar Altimeters is anengineering group with the Communication, Navigation & Surveillance organization in which this System Engineer roleis included - with products spread across both commercial and defense domains. While part of a large company and diverse organization, the NavRadio-RadarAltimeter group operates very much like a small business in many ways. We arefully integrated every aspect of a product's life cycle - from working with acustomer on a concept and subsequent proposal, through development,verification, production, and even obsolescence refreshes.
Key ResponsibilitiesOur key contributors wearmultiple "hats" dependent upon the program scope and timeline. As a System Engineer (SE), our expectation on medium to smaller programsis for the SE to operate as both Systems Engineer and Design/Development Engineer - managingboth the "system" side and the "design" side that falls under your particulardiscipline.
- Provide support to existing programs and asskills develops operate more independently on tasks/programs
- Develop requirements and system architecture -perform trade studies
- Design to meet requirements (disciplinedependent)
- Test and validate designs - in prototype phaseand for formal compliance - on bench, at off-site test facilities, and flighttesting with both Honeywell and customer
- Draft respective program artifacts, inclusiveof items such as systems requirement document, test procedures and reports,white papers, etc.
- Provide support to devices in production
- Participate in proposals and cost estimation
- "Jump in" and support other team memberswhen/where needed
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization
YOU MUST HAVE- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Aerospace or related Engineering discipline
- Experience and/or exposure in any of the following are an added benefit:
- Aerospace exposure & experience;
- Knowledge of aircraft avionics
- Familiarity with electronics and RFdisciplines;
- Individuals who are self-motivated and able towork with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to getthings done
- Multi-tasking and has the ability to manage avariety of tasks
- Excellent communication skills including theability to directly engage and influence others in change initiatives -including process, productivity and globalization.
