Delkor is looking for a Controls Engineer who will work collaboratively with other professionals in engineering, assembly, and service to ensure that the control of machines and systems adhere to the highest standards of reliability, functionality, and operator friendliness.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create, modify and maintain programs for machines, robotics, 3rd party integration, and complete systems.
- Assist Test Technicians with factory testing.
- Create documentation to share knowledge with other Controls Engineers as well as Test Technicians and Service Engineers.
- Review and troubleshoot customer field issues and recommend viable solutions for quick resolution.
- Work on projects to improve speed, capacity, reliability, functionality, and ease of operation.
- Assist Service Department in troubleshooting machines, either in the field via telephone or on-site at the customer's facility.
- Ensure that programs follow a standardized and structured format and notation for ease of understanding.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform other tasks or duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Four-year degree in Electrical Engineering or two-year Degree in Engineering or Robotics (or equivalent) with 4 years of related experience in the field of automation and robotics.
- Experience and/or familiarity with motion control, servo controls, HMI, and packaging equipment.
- Understanding of machine motion & terminology.
- AB, Fanuc PLC experience preferred.
- Minimum of one year AutoCAD experience required.
Technical Skills and Abilities
- Able to read, understand, analyze and problem solve electrical schematics and engineering related software programs.
- Able to use standard computer programs for work processing including Microsoft Office products.
- Able to tutor and/or lead others on designs and projects.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The Controls Engineer I must be able to:
- Sit at a desk or in meetings for extended periods, including performing extensive computer tasks.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The majority of duties are performed in an office setting, carrying out detail work sitting at a desk and working on the computer.
- Twenty to thirty percent (20-30%) of the work is performed on an assembly floor or at customer sites with exposure to tools, dirt, dust, chemicals, metals and plastics, varying temperatures, construction noises and odors from production processes.
- The estimated amount of time spent traveling to customer sites is twenty percent (20%).
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT
The Controls Engineer I must be able to:
- Use general office equipment such as computer, printer, telephone, fax machine, copiers, e-mail, calculator and other such equipment.
- Use basic hand tools including as wrenches, pliers, screwdriver, voltmeter, etc.
