As a Technical Engineer - Embedded Systems, you will have a deep expertise in Embedded Systems design and development and be considered a leader and mentor to other engineers. You will share knowledge about design and development of Embedded Systems and be responsible for selecting, defining/creating, and communicating system and software architectures needed for product development.
Role & Responsibility
Software Focus 
  • Provide technical leadership in the areas of software design, construction, and validation 

System Focus 
  • Provide technical leadership in system architecture, requirements solicitation, capture, and organization 
  • Direct release planning activities; risk identification; project estimation 

Verification Focus 
  • Provide leadership in test planning, test methodologies, quality tracking and improvement processes, defect management, and root cause analysis 

Leadership 
  • Define & develop best practices, methodologies, and architectures to be used by project teams throughout the entire product development process 
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to other team members 
  • May have one or more direct reports 

Innovation 
  • Pursue understanding of trends and developments in system and software design from industry, vendors, workshops, and meetings to determine and apply new techniques, technologies, processes, and procedures beneficial to assigned product design projects 
  • Contribute to ideation and problem-solving events and participate in implementation of ideas 
  • Assists and/or lead development of technology roadmaps 

Business 
  • Provides recommendations on application of new technologies to future business opportunities and products 
  • Collaborate across multi-disciplinary project teams to understand project needs, apply new technologies, develop solutions, and present solutions to various leaders including Executives, global partners, and suppliers 

Job Requirement
  • Deep expertise in software engineering 
  • In-depth knowledge of configuration management, requirements, and test techniques and methods 
  • Experience in safety critical applications 
  • Strong knowledge in embedded hardware and microprocessor 
  • Software Focus  
    • Experience in a wide range of communication protocols 
    • Experience in firmware design 
    • Knowledgeable in control system designs 
    • C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, and embedded operating systems 
  • Systems Focus 
    • Experience in requirement solicitation, capture, and organization 
    • Expert in estimation; release-level planning and tracking; risk management; team-level planning and tracking 
    • Proficient in creating, reviewing, and evaluating business cases 
  • Verification Focus 
    • Knowledgeable in test planning; test methodologies; defect management; quality tracking; root cause analysis 
    • Able to design and architect process frameworks and approaches to support testing and release management 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Highly motivated and passionate about Embedded Systems 
  • Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Software, Computer, or similar will also be considered) 
  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience 
  • Travel Required:
