Systems Analyst, IDX PCM will be responsible for a wide variety of duties related to the maintenance of the athenaIDX practice management system - Payer Contract Module (PCM) and Payer Enterprise Task Manager (ETM) environments, including but not limited to payer fee schedule management, maintenance of affiliated payer contract builds, and payment variance research.
Key Performance Areas:
Support and maintain the company’s AthenaIDX contracting and credentialing system.
Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in translating business needs to the AthenaIDX (aIDX) platform in collaboration with Revenue Cycle and Payer Strategy departments, to include system updates and ongoing maintenance of AON’s payer contracts.
Obtain payer fee schedules from all payers and/or portals as needed based on payer’s update schedule, assist in the maintenance and organization of fee schedule files within Company’s Shared Drive & SharePoint site(s).
Format and upload all applicable fee schedules into the Network’s Practice Management System (athenaIDX).
Translate payer contract reimbursement terms to build into athenaIDX PCM environment as needed.
Troubleshoot system errors reported and resolve.
Provide support to 3rd party Revenue Cycle vendors and applications as assigned.
Complete daily application maintenance tasks as assigned.
Document issues and solutions identified in aIDX PCM application for addition to system roadmap or immediate resolution.
Participate in the day-to-day system related “My Service” requests and follow-up on issues and questions of daily operations from network practices.
Validate and support system testing efforts when applicable.
Work with company users and functional teams as needed.
Maps existing business processes. Creates, analyzes, and validates detailed functional specifications. Documents existing business processes and business rules. Identifies the current and future-state business processes. Constructs Visio charts and diagrams for workflows supporting Managed Care policies/procedures, standard operating procedures, and training guides.
Analyzes current business processes, works with the business to identify opportunities for improvement in business operations and processes. Interacts with the business stakeholders and process subject matter experts to understand their needs. Determines operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, and evaluating requirements.
Actively participates in development of organizational change and implementation plans. Analyzes impacts on training and organizational changes. Ability to design training materials. Ability to train users on new procedures and systems.
Communicates process or system changes via oral and written communications including presentations.
Communicates project objectives and status to project sponsors and stakeholders. Communicates with project teams and constituencies.
Conducts post implementation reviews, provides support, and documents goal attainment.
Conducts periodic reviews of Revenue Cycle and Payer Contracting system capabilities, master files and automation opportunities.
Maintains knowledge of future enhancements. Participates in vendor or customer led presentations regarding system updates, issues and optimization opportunities and communicates relevant findings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications/Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Healthcare Administration preferred
Previous Experience:
7+ years of experience with revenue cycle, patient accounting and billing workflows
5+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst, building, supporting, and maintaining patient billing and accounts receivables systems
4+ years of experience designing, building, training, or implementing revenue cycle solutions using information technology.
Experience in healthcare managed care contracting working on either the provider or payer sides of health care preferred.
Experience with athenaIDX preferred.
