The District wants to expand the Systems Engineering team and is looking for 1 individual with strong diverse technical skills.
The selected candidate will be a highly energetic, self-motivated, enthusiastic, patient and methodical individual, who enjoys working with a team to design, implement, and maintain the District’s computer systems in a critical secure environment. This position requires the candidate to frequently travel to remote district locations, so the candidate should be comfortable with this. This candidate strives to take on new initiatives, eager to learn new technology, and can manage multiple projects and priorities. Candidate can adjust to rapid changes as demands arise, and able to adhere to IT Security measures to protect our systems confidentiality, integrity, and availability. This candidate possesses excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), strong interpersonal skills that thrives in a creative and energetic environment and be able to multi-task and meet assigned deadlines.
Highly preferred experience in these areas:

• Windows Server Administration
• Desktop Administration
• VMware/Virtualization Platforms
• Manage User accounts and permissions
• Network Troubleshooting
• Scripting – Powershell, etc.
• Engage with internal and external parties (e.g., ISPs, vendors) to troubleshoot and resolve issues, escalating as necessary to ensure timely resolution
• Maintain consistent operation of multi-user systems, including coordination with network, SCADA and system engineers, field technicians, project managers, end users, and customer and IT management
• Create and update documentation
• Managing Active Directory

Preferred experience in some or all of these platforms & technologies:

• IT Security Concepts
• Storage Systems
• Backup Systems
• SCADA
• Solarwinds or Other Monitoring Solutions
• Work in secured areas
• Perform routine management of backup and recovery services; file and disk management; and virus protection

This position may also be filled at a lower level, Grade 018.
Employment Guidelines:
Candidate typically has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer/ Systems Technology, or Management Information Systems.
Licenses / Certifications:
Valid State of Florida Driver's License is required.
Physical Requirements / Working Environment:
Due to the District's response role and in the total scope of emergency management, this position may at times, be required to provide support before, during and after major storm events and emergency situations, such as hurricanes or other declared emergencies, depending on assigned emergency response role.
