POSITION SUMMARY:

The System Administrator will assist in the day-to-day administration, support and ongoing enhancement of Menard, Inc’s server and storage systems. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments. Ideal applicants will have experience supporting mission-critical work environments including physical, virtual and cloud-based infrastructure systems and services. Candidates must be able to work in a secure, mission-critical production computing environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Server and Storage System Maintenance and Support:

• Assist in the day-to-day maintenance of Menard’s server and storage systems
• Troubleshoot, resolve and document issues in both data center and remote manufacturing environments
• Perform system OS, firmware and BIOS upgrades, as well as security patching
• Provide end-user support for infrastructure-owned solutions such as email, file shares, and backup systems
• Configure and support web server applications such as Apache Tomcat, NGINx, and IIS
• Build and configure systems via both manual and scripted processes, utilizing various frameworks such as Windows SCCM, Ansible, and Salt
• Administer large-scale virtual environments on multiple hypervisors, including Hyper-V, KVM, and VMware
• Participate in a weekly on-call rotation

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor or Associates degree in Information Technology or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
• Experience with Enterprise Server Operating systems – Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and above, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Suse Linux for Enterprise
• Excellent analytics and troubleshooting skills
• Demonstratable scripting proficiencies in PowerShell and Bash – Python experience is a plus
• Ability to remain calm and courteous in demanding situations
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with changing deadlines
• Ability to work independently, as well as cooperate with others
