What?

This role is responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems and serves as a technical expert in the area of system administration for complex operating systems and networking.

Main aspects of the role include:

• Knowledge of Vmware, Windows, enterprise networking and backup and recovery procedures; system performance monitoring tools; VOIP phone systems such as ShoreTel.  
• Demonstrated ability to provide positive, effective customer service. Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to plan, organize and document complex system design activities and to configure systems to be consistent with institutional policies/procedures; communicate technical/complex information both verbally and in writing; establish and maintain cooperation, understanding, trust and credibility; perform multiple tasks concurrently and respond to emergency situations effectively.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

You!

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field,
equivalent work experience and education will be considered. In addition, this individual should have 5 years of experience in complex systems design and implemptation and systems software support. This candidate will have 3 years experience in an IT role, including system/software life cycle management and replacement, Vmware, ESXi, and Vmware Horizon View. Experience with windows server and desktop administration, database and networking design and technologies are desired.
