Educational and Experience Requirement:Bachelor’s degree with a major in computer related field from an accredited institution. Three years relevant experience in directly related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position:Performs cloud information system analysis and management work. Work involves planning as well as analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems and implements necessary controls to ensure the secure and efficient use of cloud information systems.
Primary Responsibilities:Analyzes and tests new or existing procedures, information systems, or utility programs for efficiency and effectiveness, and designs and implements new or revised methods that effectively meet the needs of the agency. Provides technical assistance and support for cloud applications. Assists with planning for the effective use of management information systems. Assists and maintains users in the implementation of various cloud applications. Resolves incidents and service requests raised by the customer, assists with the configuration and operation of cloud-based services, and ensures compliance with quality standards, policies, and procedures. Provides guidance on how to use cloud-based technologies efficiently and effectively. Ensures existing cloud systems meet required information security controls. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications:Requires a demonstrated ability to establish congenial work relationships and to communicate effectively within departments or workgroups, throughout the university with professional or managerial staff, and with outside vendors. Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws. Ability to manage business functions. May interpret and implement complex policies affecting the department level. Work requires considerable judgment and sound reasoning to solve department and division problems. Work requires attention to detail as errors may be potentially serious.
During emergencies, operational failures, and peak use periods, employees may be called in to work onsite and/or work outside of work schedule including holidays, nights, and weekends. May be placed in on-call rotation for after-hours support. Special procedures sometimes require extended hours. Some travel is required.
Up to 40% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
