Job Description
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance and security of IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of IT services in a multiuser environment. It will manage Windows, Linux and Mac servers/workstations/devices, create and manage system permissions, prepare and configure software for wide-scale deployment, and provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to computer technicians.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience plus three (3+) plus years relevant experience in information technologies/computer science as necessary.
Job Specific Qualifications
Familiarity with, and willingness to learn, these areas is required:
- Windows and Linux server and concepts and best practices
- Microsoft cloud platform (Office365, Azure) concepts and best practices
- PowerShell scripting and task automation
- Windows and macOS client management concepts and best practices
Demonstrable expertise is required in these areas:
- Desktop operating systems (Windows, MacOS)
- Server operating systems (Windows, Ubuntu Linux)
- Fleet management tools (Active Directory, Group Policy, JAMF)
- Virtualization environments (VMWare, Hyper-V)
Responsibilities
- Administration and guidance of Windows, macOS and Linux servers/workstations/devices for ACS and supported departments.
- Provides recommendation and guidance for ACS Computer Technicians.
- Work with assigned department directors to ensure business goals are aligned with technical processes. Identify opportunities to improve business processes through technical means.
- Maintain accurate and timely incident logs in approved ticket management system. Write technical and procedural documents as needed for inclusion in knowledge base.
- Work on special projects (group or individual) as assigned by management that are outside the scope of normal job duties.
