SalaryENT Specialty Medical practice located at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas has an immediate opening for a HIGHLY EXPERIENCED, HIGHLY POLISHED individual with a great personality to schedule surgeries / CT MRI scans.
JOB SUMMARY:The position requires utilization of clinical knowledge to schedule appropriate procedures/surgeries per provider’s orders. The Surgery Scheduler must know how to verify insurance benfits, obtain prior-authorization and figure what a patient will owe for surgery. The Surgical Scheduler must schedule office based and hospital procedures consistent with the patient’s diagnosis and procedure request. The Scheduler position requires excellent customer service skills with patients, employees, and the public. The Surgical Scheduler must be able to respond to both written and oral correspondence regarding scheduling changes/cancellations in a timely, accurate manner. Individual must be organized, and be able to manage demanding workload with accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule patient for procedure with the practice and facility.
- Verify patient insurance and provide patient with quote regarding surgeon’s fees.
- Collect deductibles / co-insurance prior to surgery.
- Obtain prior authorizations and pre-determinations as needed.
- Meet with doctors as necessary to ensure smooth surgery process.
- Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness in handling all patient interactions.
- Efficient & accurate reporting
- Proactive problem-solving
- Assist other members of the department as needed.
- Any other duties that are assigned by physicians, practice administrator, and/or management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
