Surgery Center Scheduler

Job Description

Riceland is looking for a detail oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Surgery Center scheduler with Insurance Verification experience. Job will require applicants to coordinate surgical procedures, schedule patient appointments and verify insurance coverage. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a background in medical office administration. Training will be provided for software.

Surgery Center scheduler responsibilities would include :

• Coordinate surgical procedures by scheduling patient appointments, surgical staff, and operating room availability.
• Coordinate with physicians, surgeons, and anesthesia providers to arrange surgery dates, and times according to patient needs and physicians availability.
• Communicate with patients to gather necessary information, include medical history, insurance details, and scheduling preferences.
• Verify insurance coverage and benefits for schedule procedures, ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement.
• Educate patients on insurance requirements, copays, deductibles and pre-authorizations.
• Maintain accurate records of patient appointments, insurance information, and surgical schedules.
• Respond to patients inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist with administration tasks such as filing, data entry, and insurance claim processing.
• Stay informed about changes in insurance policies, billing codes, and healthcare regulations affecting Surgery Center operations.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and medical records.
