Supplier Performance Manager - Torrance
The SPM, reporting to the Supplier Development Manager, is responsible for the short-term recovery Project Management and on-the-ground Joint Improvement Plan/Supplier Improvement Plan. This position will be focusing on suppliers in the Western US.
Responsibilities:
Plan and execute recovery and transition project activities.
Be the onsite presence for Moog in key Western US suppliers.
Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams dedicated to supplier development and recovery efforts.
Identify what required functions are needed to support supplier improvement projects.
Plan and facilitate suppliers' visits.
Plan and coordinate project-dedicated resources and stakeholders.
Identify, report, and mitigate project risks.
Report project progress to Supplier Development Manager and escalate if required.
Carry out capacity assessments and identify areas for improvement.
The SPM will be expected to have the breadth and knowledge to effectively optimize supplier recovery and development.
Managing the supplier/Moog relationship and be a key negotiator in the partnership.
Basic Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree level education (vocational, professional, or advanced), preferred in the fields of engineering, supply chain, or business.
Greater than 5 years of progressive experience (usually post education) in the field of manufacturing or engineering (preferably Aerospace).
Ability to travel throughout the US, Mexico and Canada.
Program/project management skills are critical to the role.
An engineering or technical background is preferable, along with Project/Program Management experience.
Good negotiating skills
Strong communication skills are required in the form of written, verbal, and formal presentation. Incumbent should have the ability to effectively communicate with, and influence, Operation Group staff, which is made up of many disciplines, at all management levels. This also includes communications with Moog internal and external stakeholders.
The individual must be able to deal with a variety of tasks at any one time and understand the priorities. Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Job is based in the Torrance location with reporting to leadership in East Aurora, NY.
Preferred Qualifications:
Desired qualifications include Certification in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Program Management, additional education and a master's degree in business, Engineering.
The base pay range for this opportunity is $95,326. - $168,230. per year. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will have the option of a 9/80 work schedule with a hybrid work option (3 days/week in the office, or more depending on program needs) in Torrance, CA.
