Substance Abuse Counselor

Responsibilities:

- Conduct assessments to determine the severity of Substance Abuse issues

- Develop personalized treatment plans based on individual needs

- Provide individual and group counseling sessions

- Educate clients on the effects of Substance Abuse and the benefits of recovery

- Assist clients in developing coping strategies and relapse prevention techniques

- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records

- Stay informed about current trends and research in addiction counseling

Requirements:

-Lived experience

-Experience with culturally diverse populations

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or related field

- Valid state licensure or certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor

- Knowledge of medical terminology related to Substance Abuse treatment

- Experience in case management and crisis intervention

- Familiarity with behavioral health principles and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques

- Strong understanding of addiction counseling theories and practices

- Ability to provide care for clients with co-occurring disorders, such as PTSD

- Proficiency in coding systems, such as ICD-9, for data collection purposes

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
