Job Description
The Student Success Coordinator/Academic Advisor is responsible for providing guidance and support to our international students throughout their time at KI.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Student Success Coordinator/Academic Advisor will help to create a friendly and inviting English speaking environment for our short and long-term international students and will be responsible for the following academic and student services:
- Advising Students On Academic Advancement (specifically as related to the progress test)
- This includes organizing, administrating, and grading the exam, as well as issuing ILPs for lack of progress.
- Assist in keeping the school compliant with state, national, and organizational standards of compliance
- Advise new and current students on KI courses and products; collect lead information
- Deliver attendance warnings
- Liaise with national Customer Service team to follow policies related to course adjustments, including adherence to Quote Request (QRF) and Change Form (CF) processes
- Accept payments
- Assist with new student orientation and graduation
- Advise students on university admissions
- Administer student satisfaction surveys
- Advise students on academic and social matters
- Serve as substitute teacher as needed
- Supervise and develop Interns
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- NYS ESL Teaching Credentials
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident (mandatory for DSO)
- 1-2+ years in a business or operational setting
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with international students and/ or advising
- Experience with database systems
- One or more foreign language ability
