JOB SUMMARY:
The Student Success Coordinator is responsible for planning, facilitating, and supervising all activities related to the testing services offered through the office. They will assist with programs and services enabling students with disabilities to have access to all programs and services provided by the University.
This position will also coordinate all tutoring requests and matches in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Tutoring and Student Success. Serving as the central point of contact for faculty, students, and community members, they will greatly contribute to office operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinate and schedule testing accommodations with students and faculty (including test acquisition, proctoring, return and security, management of student files, and correspondences).
- Responds to access issues and concerns of academic integrity as needed.
- Aid in service coordination for captioning/CART requests, peer notetaker requests, and alternative format textbook requests.
- Assist in reading/scribing/transcribing/altering test formats and course documents, and other course materials, as needed to ensure accessibility.
- Recruit, hire, assign, support, and evaluate tutors based on student requests.
- Promote tutoring opportunities to students and collaborate with faculty to obtain recommendations.
- Maintain tutoring applications and review submissions, reaching out to and hiring applicants.
- Work with the Payroll Department to complete the tutor hiring process and approve time cards as needed.
- Assign tutors to specific individual students or groups of students to provide tutoring.
- Supervise and provide performance feedback to tutors each semester to help them improve and increase the quality of their services.
- Reach out to faculty members to identify potential tutors if a tutor doesn’t already exist for a particular content area that is requested.
- Assist in the training and development of tutors with Assistant Director of Tutoring and Student Success.
- Create and manage a collection of online resources for tutors to reference and an online community to encourage idea-sharing and communication among tutors.
- Provide direct service to students, faculty, and staff – disseminates information, resolves issues as appropriate, and provides referrals to other campus services as needed.
- Maintain department email and communications and serve as the first point of contact.
- Maintain user interface and settings within Accommodate, the office online database system, to efficiently streamline processes and ensure that information is properly captured.
- Maintain student electronic records.
- Maintain communication with Accommodate’s customer service representative.
- Attend occasional Accommodate webinars and engage with available online training references.
- Maintain student records, schedules, and correspondence in computer software (Accommodate) and create annual reports as needed.
- May support additional office services such as exit interviews, accommodation intakes, academic coaching, promotional activities, campus collaboration, and data analysis.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with relational databases or student information systems.
- Knowledge of assistive technology and collegiate-level educational testing practices.
- Have a keen attention to detail.
