The Department of Financial Protection & Innovation (DFPI), Legal Division, is seeking to hire a detail-oriented, organized, personable, self-motivated, career minded, fast learning Student Assistant in our North Sacramento Office. Under the supervision of the Staff Services Manager 1, you'll primarily be responsible for scanning and remediating legal documents. Training will be provided. You may also assist with the Public Records Act, rulemaking, contracts, DocQnet, NetDocuments, SharePoint, clerical tasks, and special requests.
This is a potentially long-term, in-person (onsite) assignment. Partial telework may become available for high-performing individuals. Flexible workdays and work hours, Monday - Friday, between 9am - 6pm. The final work schedule will be determined by the supervisor. Reliable transportation to our office is required. We are near Truxel Road and Arena Boulevard.

This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.

Prerequisites
Must be a college student attending classes during the regular term (Fall, Spring and Winter, if applicable), at one of the accredited colleges or universities on our affiliation list.

Students must be enrolled in at least: six-semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduate students; four-semester units or six quarter units for graduate students.

Work Schedule

Additional Work Schedule
Student Assistant employees generally work up to 24 hours per workweek (Monday - Friday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per workweek during breaks; (winter, spring, and summer).
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, personable, self-motivated, career minded, and fast learning.
- Excellent reading, writing, keyboarding, and proofreading skills required.
- Reliable transportation to our North Sacramento office is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Individuals who are, or have been, a dependent child in foster care, a homeless youth or a formerly incarcerated youth as defined by Government Code section 18220 are encouraged to apply and will be given priority. - Attention to detail and problem solving skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to multi-task.
- College of Arts and Letters majors (or minors) preferred.
