STUDENT ASSISTANT - RECREATION INTERN
The Department of State Hospitals-Napa, Rehabilitation Therapy Services Department has an intermittent-actual time worked vacancy for Student Assistant - Recreation Intern. Please contact the Chief of Rehabilitation Therapy Services with any questions:

This advertisement may be used to fill multiple vacancies. Position will be filled based upon budget approval.
Applicants possessing experience working with adult patients in a psychiatric and/or forensic facility are preferred. Expectations for entering internship include completion of coursework towards a degree in Recreation Therapy with the anticipated completion of a bachelor's degree or equivalency from a university with a program approved by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation.

Department Information Founded in 1875, Napa State Hospital is the only state hospital in Northern California for persons struggling with severe mental illness. Classified as a low to moderate security facility, the hospital has a bed capacity to treat up to 1,362 patients on an attractive campus with treatment units located on 138 acres. Staff is dedicated and committed to delivering high quality, cost-effective, professional services and specialized programs in an environment that promotes continuous improvements in treatment for individuals with mental disabilities.

Range A. Enrollment as a student in a college or university with lower division undergraduate standing. (Lower division typically refers to freshmen or sophomores who have completed no more than 60 semester units acceptable toward graduation.)
Range B. Enrollment as a student in a college or university with upper division undergraduate standing. (Upper division typically refers to juniors or seniors who have completed not less than 60 nor more than 120 semester units acceptable toward graduation.)
Range C. Enrollment as a student in a college or university with upper division undergraduate standing (upper division typically refers to juniors or seniors who have completed not less than 60 nor more than 120 semester units acceptable toward graduation) and a minimum of 500 hours' work experience in a student program in the California state service.
