Job Summary

The project plans to (1) assess the academic success of students on target student population (first generation students, Pell grant recipients, non-native English speakers, etc.); (2) quantify the impact of interventions that occur in classes; and (3) identify the most optimum time periods in a day when students can potentially form study groups
Creating a reporting dashboard (and backend database) will provide the staff, and faculty a centralized location for important information and resources for students, tutors, and administrators. Creating a custom dashboard/reporting tool for student retention can provide important insights and information to help improve retention rates. Some potential benefits include being aware of academic support¿s contribution and other interventions. With hybrid offerings due to the pandemic, the dashboard will help assess differences in outcomes in online versus in-person classes or academic supports.

Responsibilities
  • Identify specific items and metrics that need to be included in the data analysis. Identify appropriate and software tools available at GGC
  • Develop sketches on what the look of the dashboard
  • Submit data requests for identified metrics or use the given excel file data
  • Calculate required quantities for required metrics for the dashboard from requested data.
  • Develop the database and frontend (dashboard) tools. Refine the dashboard tool
  • Perform QA by user testing of reporting and analysis tool and perform identified updates
  • Submit all data, analysis tools, software to the project manager
Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits hours of course(s) during fall and spring semesters at Georgia Gwinnett College for a STEM major
  • Must be in good academic standing and maintain good standing for the duration of employment
  • Must be in good conduct standing with the Office of Student Integrity and maintain good conduct for the duration of employment
  • Must have a completed at least 70 credits in course work leading to an IT major (any concentration)
  • Work in-person in a remote and/or in-person setting for at least 10 hours/week in Spring 2023
Preferred Qualifications
  • IT major (any concentration) at GGC
