Student Assistant
Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the Program Assistant of International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS), the Student Assistant is responsible for providing exceptional support to international students and scholars by serving as their first point of contact at the ISSS office.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Under the supervision of the ISSS Program Assistant, the main responsibilities of the Student Assistant are to:
- Handle office phone calls and assist visitors with basic immigration and USF-related inquiries
- Provide information to students and visitors regarding the ISSS programs and services
- Manage ISSS website and social media accounts
- Create posters/flyers, general marketing outreach
- Propose and design new media content to engage students
- Logging and completing student requests (scanning immigration documents) submitted in-person or online in ISSS database
- Monitor and help with ISSS handout inventory
- Keep ISSS front desk clean and presentable
- Assist ISSS staff members with tasks/projects as needed (data entry, data clean-up, direct outreach to students via phone or email, event logistics, copying, bulk mailing, running errands on-campus, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Cross cultural understanding and a desire to work with a diverse group of staff and students.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (e.g., ability to give clear and concise information and instructions).
- Ability and willingness to learn new, multi-step procedures and carry them out consistently.
- Related administrative experience and knowledge of various office procedures (use of telephone, fax, scanner, and copier).
- Attention to detail and ability to work with frequent interruptions.
- Comfortable with multitasking in a deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of PC computer hardware and software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher).
- Knowledge of Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator) preferred, but not required.
- Experience creating IG reels preferred, but not required.
- USF student in good academic standing (minimum GPA: 2.0 for undergrads; 3.0 for grad students).
- Customer-service oriented, personable nature.
