About the team: Provides support for student learner activities, onboarding and career track support to students, as well as prospective and current employees. Provides administrative support for WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT including job shadowing and support of career ladder and apprenticeship programs. Provides assistance to managers and employees in understanding student learner and HR programs, policies and procedures. Develops programs with local colleges, is the liaison with high schools for job preparation classes, attends career functions and job fairs, serves as a community contact for recruitment of students, and provides support for both STUDENT AND employee learning. Works with and supports HR and Clinical Education on the Learning Management System while supporting monitoring and tracking of regulatory education requirements. Serves as a point of contact and resource for both internal and external customers; maintains a welcoming, positive environment consistent with SPMC values.
Required Education and Experience:
  • Associate degree in Human Resources or related field, preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute pending completion of a degree in progress.
  • Two (2) years of related administrative experience, preferred. Human resources experience preferred, health care experience a plus.

Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registration:
  1. PHR/SPHR or equivalent certification preferred.

Job Specific Duties:
  1. Supports the lifecycle of student activities including responding to outreach, developing programs, onboarding students, processing job shadows, supporting apprenticeship and residency programs. For student learners, ensures an affiliation agreement is currently in place, verifies that the correct requests for accommodations are properly handled and preceptors and other support personnel are available. Provides all required documents to the school coordinator and initiates account creation. Onboards the students and ensures at the end of the rotation, they are terminated in timely manner.

  1. Performs a wide variety of both routine and complex administrative activities to ensure department functions are carried out in an accurate and timely manner. Maintains all documents, records and files in good order. Assists in the development of effective and efficient tools and procedures.

  1. Assists with the administration of HR programs, including but not limited to student learner programs, asf well as support for compensation, benefits, performance feedback/evaluation, and leave of absence. Maintains job descriptions; processes wage adjustments; processes new benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations; assists with reconciliation of monthly invoices/enrollments; assists with annual benefits open enrollment activities; provides maintains leave of absence documents and records. Maintains HR policy documents. Develops and maintains the HRIS system; maintains electronic and paper files and records.
  2. Facilitates New Employee Orientation. Inputs all new hires into the HRIS system while verifying pre-employment requirements have been met. Verifies requirements are met throughout the year.
  3. Responds to students, academic leaders, community members, employees, visitors, calls and electronic inquiries in a friendly and helpful manner. Takes initiative to handle student learner and employee relations within scope/ability; appropriately seeks assistance or redirects issues outside of scope/ability.

  1. Supports talent acquisition activities. Processes job postings; develops and places recruitment advertisements; facilitates candidate/hiring-manager communications; coordinates pre-hire and onboarding activities. Maintains the applicant tracking system in good order.

  1. Supports learning and development activities. Assists in maintenance of the learning management system (LMS).

  1. Investigates and responds to unemployment claims and employment verification requests.

  1. Builds and maintains effective working relationships. Participates as an active member of various committees; leads work groups, projects and committees as assigned.

  1. Develops and maintains professional skills and awareness of regulatory requirements

  1. Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned.

*Essential Job Function
This is a non-union position with a pay range of $23.24 - $32.43 per hour, depending on experience.
