FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I | FULL-TIME

The Fox Theatre in Atlanta is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Facilities Maintenance Technician I.

The Facilities Maintenance Technician I will perform maintenance and repairs on the building and its equipment. Under the advisement of senior maintenance personnel, they will perform inspections and make minor repairs of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, as well minor construction, fabrication, and painting work. They assist engineering personnel in the operation and maintenance of the central plant systems and equipment. This position may have event coverage responsibilities.

Major Responsibilities:

• Perform general maintenance on building and assigned fixtures, mechanical equipment, and machines to include air handlers and related HVAC equipment including chilled water systems, pumps, motors, refrigeration, radiant heating, piping, valves, strainers, auditorium seating, and lighting.
• Complete all assigned work orders and inspections in a timely and accurate manner, logging activity in work order management software and completing an end-of-shift report.
• Load, unload, and move furniture, equipment, fixtures, delivered boxes, and other items as needed.
• Perform facility walk-throughs and inspections during shift, noting discrepancies and performing repairs as needed.
• Other duties as directed.

Credentials and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic facility maintenance skills including but not limited to; carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, operations of HVAC equipment, and janitorial procedures.
• Position requires ability to operate hand/power tools, motor vehicles (may include forklift), and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly and effectively in English.
• Must possess general computer proficiency skills, including but not limited to word processing, e-mail, internet navigation, and web searches.

Essential Physical Requirements:

• This position requires work inside and outside in all types of weather with fluctuations in temperature and conditions.
• Must be able to frequently traverse building including moving between multiple floors.
• Position often requires reaching, bending, lifting, carrying, squatting, kneeling, and stooping.
• Must be able to occasionally remain stationary for long periods of time.
• Must be able to able to ascend/descend ladders as needed.
• This position will require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally; must be capable of lifting/pulling/pushing up to 100 pounds with assistance if needed.

Special Requirements:

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, holidays, and overtime as requested.
• Must be able to maintain strict company, staff, and guest confidentiality.
• Must be able to interface with and work alongside external 3rd-party contracted personnel.
• Must be able to work alone or as part of a group and demonstrate sound decision-making with limited supervisory input.
• Some aspects of this job may involve coming into contact with hazardous chemicals.

Other Requirements:

• Successful applicants must be able to pass a post-offer background check, and motor vehicle records check.
• Must be able to drive and must possess a valid driver’s license.
