Job Summary:The Graduate School is seeking a Student Affairs Support Associate. The Student Affairs Support Associate will assist the Graduate School in various tasks, including: evaluating student files for the purpose of scheduling final and qualifying exams; approving doctoral advisory committees and approving any committee modifications; communicating with directors of graduate studies regarding potential deficiencies and resolve issues related to the administration of each exam, as required and maintain program reference materials related to degree requirements.
Other duties will include monitoring progress towards completion of degree requirements; oversee student files of all degree candidates; certify the completion of degree requirements and reviewing formatting requirements for dissertations and thesis prior to acceptance and publication. The Student Affairs Support Associate will also review electronic thesis and dissertations for format and satisfaction of technical requirements and will cooperate with university archives for proper archiving and maintenance of ETD guidelines.
Must have excellent planning and organizing skills and exhibit dependability and
attention to detail. Must be able to work independently as well as in the team
concept. Should have excellent communication skills in addition to customer service
orientation. MS Word, MS Excel, general computer fluency and database
maintenance skills are necessary.
