Preferred Education/Experience:REQUIRED Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities :
• Must be available to work a full-day camp setting, five days a week. Weekdays: 8:00-5:00 or 8:30-5:30, May 22 – August 9, 2024 excluding the week of July 4th.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Working experience with pre-school or elementary age children, preferably in a recreational setting.
• Excellent communication and organization skills with an enthusiastic and flexible attitude
• Must have the ability to work in a physically fast paced environment that includes navigating multiple floors of exhibit spaces and manipulating a variety of supplies throughout the shift.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must have an enthusiasm for working with children with the ability to adapt to changing situation and react calmly under pressure.
• Applicant must be comfortable communicating with parents/caregivers daily.
• Ability to motivate and inspire others, especially childrenof all ages.
• Must be comfortable following all safety procedures as trained.

Job Summary:You must be a current UK student to apply for this position. This position is located off-campus with a local Lexington employer and is not affiliated with UK.
The Explorium of Lexington is seeking seasonal Camp Counselors for our Summer 2024 Camp program. We are seeking patient, dependable, high-energy individuals with enthusiasm for creating
a fun and dynamic hands-on learning environment that inspires imagination and curiosity. As a Camp Counselor you will ensure that campers experience a stimulating and fun learning
environment at the Explorium of Lexington in the classrooms, while in our museum, and on the playground. You will implement activities, help maintain a safe classroom, and work closely with
children of all ages with a maximum of 25 campers per class.
• Provide a safe and engaging instructional environment in and outside of the classroom.
• Assist campers with activities and material preparation in groups or individually.
• Provide in classroom preparation and cleaning.
• Assist with health and safety of the campers by evaluating and treating minor incidents and informing the Play & Learning Director of any incidents.
• Assist with registration and other daily duties.
• Assist with pulling supplies and preparation of classrooms.
• Communicate with parents, visitors, and non-camp staff.
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment for all campers, staff, and volunteers
