About the Role
We are expanding our Uber Direct business Team in the US&C, and we need people like you to help us grow our business! Uber Direct enables merchants to unlock last-mile delivery for their customers via their app or website.
As a Money Operations Manager on our team, your role will drive our business towards greater profitability and operational excellence. Your primary focus will be on expanding and optimizing our Uber Direct Money operations. In this key position, you will be responsible for the management of Merchant Money Operations.
Your duties will encompass a broad range of critical operational aspects such as owning billing processes, streamlining refunds, overseeing promotions payments, enhancing collections strategies, and overseeing product enhancement. You will be at the forefront of operational advancements, collaborating closely with diverse teams across the company. This role demands a keen eye for identifying and seizing process improvement opportunities, ultimately contributing to our operations' overall growth and efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Money Operations Improvements: Take charge of refining and optimizing all facets of merchant Money Operations. This includes improving billing processes, streamlining refunds, overseeing the management of promotion payments, formulating advanced collection strategies, and guiding product enhancements. Your role is crucial in advancing our operational processes and collaborating extensively with various teams within the organization.
- Financial Operations Management: actively engage with account management teams, sales, and other departments to identify any existing process inefficiencies. By working together, develop innovative solutions and implement them to drive operational efficiency across the organization (e.g. centralizing repeatable processes, performance reporting)
- Project Management: Proactively scope insights-driven projects to help improve accurate money flow and merchant experience; take accountability for project outcomes, ensure delivery on metrics, & keep others informed of progress
- Data analysis: Analyze sophisticated data, identify the problem's root causes, build models, and aggregate insights to drive key business decisions and policies. Define critical metrics and develop dashboards to track business performance; report findings to leadership to define long-term strategy and decision-making
- Stakeholder management: Play a pivotal role in collaborating with various teams involved in Uber Direct, such as Account Management, Sales, Product, Customer Support, and Finance - engage with merchants to ensure an optimal merchant experience and optimized Money flow
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional work experience in a related field (start-up, operations, strategy, analytics, tech)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in leading process and performance improvements by leveraging data and insights
- Proven ability to prioritize work strategically and complete objectives while demonstrating solid stakeholder management (Sales, Account Management, finance teams)
- Capability to take initiative and easily adapt to a constantly changing work environment and you are comfortable with ambiguity
- Experiment and hustle to build quickly. This individual will need to identify and evaluate solutions for short and long-term operational problems
- Experience working closely and communicating effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders in a constantly evolving, rapid-growth environment with tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with payments and money flow
- Data-driven decision-making mentality and sound business judgment through analytical thinking
- Strong Analytics. Validated analytical skills and data-driven decision-making and the ability to use data to build models to find opportunities and deliver results (Strong Excel and SQL knowledge is a must)
- Experience with cross-functional stakeholders and external-facing client
- Bachelor degree
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$101,000 per year - USD$112,500 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$101,000 per year - USD$112,500 per year.
For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits. Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber's cultural identity. For certain roles, such as those based at green-light hubs, employees are expected to be in-office for 100% of their time.
