- Lead, manage, and prioritize initiatives to improve R&D productivity as part of our corporate multi-year operational excellence program to drive long-term growth
- Drive strategic programs and influence & coach teams across the organization. Ensure linkage between strategy, operational plans, projects and metrics
- Build detailed project plans with project scope, team, timeline & key milestones, and establish governance cadence. Develop agendas, facilitate discussion, and ensure that meetings result in decision oriented, actionable outcomes
- Ensure systems and reporting mechanisms are in place to benchmark, monitor and achieve R&D portfolio metrics, and assist with metrics definition, alignment, deployment, and measurement of KPIs to drive R&D productivity
- Work with cross-functional data analytics teams and data stewards to derive insights & drive actions pertaining to the R&D portfolio and investment strategy
- Communicates regularly with stakeholders to provide updates on transformation progress, accomplishments and challenges, and solicit feedback to inform decision-making
- Evaluate effectiveness of transformation efforts and maintain a backlog of new opportunities for continuous improvement
- Leverage market, portfolio and cultural insights to support our R&D organization Strategy and accelerate innovation
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 12 years of related experience, with 3-6 years of material experience with time spent in similar roles. A bachelors degree in science, engineering, or business required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
- Prefer management or strategy consulting experience specific to broad-based biotech / biopharma / life sciences tools industries
- Understanding of key business drivers and considerations in the biotech and / or life science industry
- Deep knowledge of business and operational processes, and is well-versed in strategic program management, time & budget management and corporate communications or change management
- Must have strong analytical skills - experience with business cases, quantitative analytics, data visualization highly preferred
- Motivated and confident self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities; able to progress independently or with minimum supervision
- Able to lead in a matrixed environment and across all levels of the organization, from executive leadership to individual contributors and across functional areas
- Comfort with ambiguity; ability to work in a dynamic environment and manage a range of complex-high impact projects simultaneously
