Overview
Strategic sourcing is responsible for analyzing spend and developing & executing strategies to source direct and indirect goods and services. Strategic sourcing supports global business units, stakeholders, and initiatives through analysis and evaluation of suppliers, category landscapes, Supply Chain, value, and compliance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Build in-depth knowledge of assigned categories and develop category sourcing strategies.
- Achieve cost savings targets and supplier performance goals.
- Analyze historical spend to proactively identify sourcing opportunities to improve cost, working capital, and payment terms.
- Identify and implement business process standards and optimize use of existing business systems.
- Provide supplier relationship management and monitor contract compliance.
- Develop relationships with key suppliers to service multiple sites and businesses.
- Develop and manage Request for Proposal, Quote, or Information (RFx) activities with business partners to drive savings.
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions in cooperation with business partners.
- Support vendor onboarding
- Place and track Purchase Orders as needed.
- Timely resolution of supplier related service issues.
- Ensure accuracy of supplier related data in business systems.
- Champion purchasing discipline and compliance with internal stakeholders.
Experience Requirements (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Procurement, or Supply Chain or equivalent experience in a related field
- 2+ years of experience in Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Procurement preferred.
- Ability to establish and build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities.
- Basic negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Drive to challenge the status quo and collaboratively implement change.
- Strong analytical skills (especially MS Excel formulas, pivot tables) and presentation development (especially in MS PowerPoint)
Education/License/Technical Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience in Sourcing/Supply Chain/Procurement or Corporate Financial Planning
