Staff Development Specialist / Recruiter
Responsibilities:
- This position is responsible for providing the highest level of staffing services to the Whitney Academy Inc. This position delivers high quality entry level candidates through the Whitney Academy Inc. selection process.
- This individual, will perform full lifecycle recruiting and maintain excellent relations with candidates and the community resources at-large. A wide degree of creativity, near & long-term recruiting vision, business understanding, and personal organization is required.
- Seek out, interview, and screen applicants to fill existing and future job openings.
- Travel to universities, colleges and employment centers to recruit and interview promising candidates for employment. Create and foster relationships with such professional organizations to further attract and recruit alumni and diversity candidates.
- Develop and maintain a network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates.
- Participates in the development of ongoing creative and cost-effective sourcing strategies. Develops an effective pipeline of key talent potentially available for immediate hire as succession planning needs dictate. Stays informed of trends and innovative recruiting techniques in order to be competitive in State- of-the-Art recruiting practices.
- Assist in the implementation, review and modification of Whitney’s Orientation & Training Program.
- Assist in the implementation of ongoing Employee Mandatory In-Service Training Programs, including The Whitney Academy’s Crisis Intervention Curriculum by developing, implementing and conducting relevant training programs.
- Design services (e.g. training, programs, materials, etc.) for the purpose of implementing professional development program activities that address the agencies training needs and requirements.
Requirements:
- Residential and Human Services experience preferred
- A Bachelor's Degree in area of specialty and 1- 3 years of experience in the field or in a related area of recruitment. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the recruitment field.
- Valid driver’s license
- RMV and background checks are required
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment with coworkers and supervisors
- Excellent problem-solving skills
