Job Summary

The Email Technical Support and Deliverability Manager will be responsible for co-managing CDP’s Email Marketing tool. CDP deploys a marketing tool as part of the fundraising efforts for stations that helps manage efficient and targeted communications at scale. This role will become a subject matter expert for the Email Marketing tool (currently under selection) that will be used both by CDP and their clients. This person will be the main point of contact for the selected vendor, CDP internal teams, and our clients. In partnership with the Digital Services Leadership team, this role will drive supporting and implementing the product vision. This role requires the ability to own the execution and delivery of day to day e-mail platform operations, while proactively planning and helping communicating the short and long term product project plan through multiple channels simultaneously.


Priorities, including but not limited to:

  • Support client end users in their best practice use and application of the tool and functionality, responding and resolving issues submitted through the case system and providing live support where required.
  • With the assistance of the Systems team manage sender reputation and deliverability across senders and IP addresses.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements in conjunction with the digital leadership team.
  • Monitor and assist with all stages of the email tool implementation including design and development.
  • Partner with product vendors and CDP technical team on product troubleshooting, new product releases, testing connections, and internal configurations to support the smooth execution of new releases or fixes in the product.
  • Liaise with other client staff (business and IT teams) as needed for more complex issues
  • Provide additional support to the digital fundraising team building segments and customers journeys, including monitoring correct functioning.
  • Provide regular updates to digital leadership on the product’s usage including defining metrics
  • Collaborate with other members of the marketing team on the alignment and execution of the digital fundraising email calendar and client email sends, including sharing content generated by the digital marketing team.


Experience/Skills

  • Minimum of 4+ years as a multichannel digital marketer handling high volume, complex email campaigns and marketing automations for clients
  • Experience with sophisticated outbound marketing and journey builder tools , i.e Iterable, Eloqua, etc.
  • Expertise in managing sender reputation and optimizing email deliverability for shared and dedicated domains and IP addresses
  • Experience using third party tools such as Litmus, Validity, DataDog or Kickbox to identify and monitor deliverability issues, trends, and overall health
  • Experience with mailbox provider filtering methodologies, ISP Relationship Management, Blacklist Management
  • Solid understanding of consent management, email compliance, CAN-SPAM requirements, and industry standards such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC
  • Experience creating audience segments and analyzing email and list performance
  • Experience building forms and other opt-in and consent management mechanisms
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word as well as Adobe products
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently across multi-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Possess strong communications skills with the ability to communicate complex messages in an efficient and cohesive manner
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment overseeing multiple projects and campaigns simultaneously while meeting deadlines is essential
  • Proven administrative and organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and willingness to adapt to changing responsibilities required

Educational Requirements
