Description:
The Staff Associate Senior position is the senior support staff for the Recruitment and Advisement personnel in the New Student Center.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field from a four-year college or university and four (4) years of responsible related experience including some supervisory experience.
- All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
- Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
- Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to demonstrate analytical and technological skills in spreadsheet and database management to support research
- Possess appropriate administrative skills
- Ability to work independently and on teams as needed
- Ability to resolve of refer problems to appropriate areas
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings and weekends
- Ability to travel when needed
- Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
Responsibilities:
- Serves on the Pre-College Advising (PCA) team for high school recruitment to provide support to prospective students
- Serves as liaison to South Florida Workforce and conducts orientations at the One Stop Career Centers
- Provides advisement and registration assistance to First-Time in College Students (FTIC) students and certificate program students
- Conducts New Student orientations and assists in the registration process of FTIC students
- Assists with coordinating and planning recruitment events, including Open Houses, College Fairs, Mini-Expos and Parent Nights
- Communicates with assigned PCA caseloads systematically and intentionally through e-mails, and face-to-face meetings
- Coordinates and provides oversight for the summer bridge program for graduating high school students entering college
- Performs other duties as assigned
