Position overview
The Staff Accountant is responsible for providing day-to-day accounting operations support, variance and general ledger analysis and account reconciliation, as well as month-end close process. The Staff Accountant must be knowledgeable in accrual accounting and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Job Responsibilities

• Preparation of financial statements and budgeting processes
• Prepare journal entries and monthly account reconciliations with supporting documentation
• Execute complete monthly close process working closely with Accounting team to communicate, report and resolve close issues
• Suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
• Accountable for maintaining and reconciling Balance Sheet accounts
• Possess solid understanding of Accounting principles, accruals, allocations and inter-company transactions
• Prepare additional analyses for internal management
• Ensure SOX compliance and maintains appropriate SOX controls
• Provide Actual vs Budget variance explanations
• Assist with year-end close
• Assist accounting and/or management team to maintain symmetry across businesses

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience required
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in general accounting and GAAP fundamentals
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Strong accounting software skills; experience with Legacy ERP systems and reporting a plus
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365® preferred; advanced Excel skills
• Report writing and analytical skills in reviewing/building financial documents
• Strong attention to detail and organization with a desire for continuous improvement
• Proactive and collaborative with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to learn and acquire any skills necessary to get the job done
• Ability to be discreet in the confidential handling of all business-related information and situations

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
