R&D Engineer II – Endoscopy
As an R&D Engineer II, you will support the design and development of new products, components, processes and/or equipment. You will collaborate with R&D, cross-functional teams, and external vendors to support project milestones. You will work independently or under general direction of a lead engineer and/or project manager. You will also help support lab maintenance activities.

A Day in the Life
- Designs, develops, analyzes, troubleshoots, and provides technical skills during research and/or product development.
- Supports concept generation, design development, design verification and validation and commercial release.
- Designs and develops components, sub-assemblies and/or processes.
- Develops test components and fixtures.
- Reviews or coordinates vendor activities to support development.
- Generates work instructions, test methods, engineering models and drawings/prototype to characterize product and process specifications.
- Performs characterization studies, analyze data using statistical technique, and communicate results.
- Creates and updates design control documents, write protocols/reports.
- Maintains detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development.
- Develops understanding of clinical procedure through support of ex-vivo and in-vivo studies; may provide support to clinical trials as needed.
- Contributes to intellectual property portfolio through generation and support of novel ideas and product concepts.
- Plans, organizes, and prioritizes own daily work routine to meet established schedule.
- Works independently or under general direction to determine and develop approach to solutions.
- Collaborates with other R&D and cross-functional team members to support timely executions of tasks and project milestones.
- May be involved in product research and development and/or clinical trials.
- Additional tasks as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related technical field with 2+ years of engineering experience
OR
An advanced degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related technical field with 0+ years of engineering experience
Nice to Have
- 2+ years of medical device engineering experience
- Experience with medical device design and new product development
- Experience with SolidWorks or Creo
- Experience with Minitab and/or JMP
- General understanding of design controls Understanding and experience of Catheter technology
