Creation Technologies is a leading global electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider. Our 14 business spans four countries and many hundreds of customers. We are seeking an Accountant responsible for our Rochester, NY, site.
Reporting to the Site Controller, the Accountant provides accounting support to enable the team to deliver professional services and financial solutions to the organization. This role analyzes, records, and reports financial data and prepares financial/summary reports. This position also participates in determining and implementing preventative control measures and solutions and assisting in identifying and recommending process improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the company's accounting records, including general accounting and costing.
- Responsible for the preparation of financial statements and other management reports.
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts and document business transactions.
- Monthly close, reporting, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Assist in the implementation of accounting and internal controls policies.
- Assist in the maintenance of the Chart of Accounts and financial reporting structure.
- Analyze and explain results to plan.
- Review revenue, expense, and other accounting transactions.
- Perform the input and handling of financial data and reports for Creation's financial systems.
- Interact with internal and external auditors in completing auditsOther duties assigned.
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in accounting.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) or starting the CPA program will be considered an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
- Working knowledge of IFRS.
- Minimum three years of accounting experience within a dynamic business environment, preferably with a mid-large manufacturing company.
- Experience and demonstrated ability in effectively partnering with senior business leaders, developing a broad understanding of all aspects of operations.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills to understand, interpret, and accurately measure financial performance and communicate financial data.
- Working knowledge of standard cost.
- Prior experience with Epicor, Oracle, or GRMS is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong and trusting relationships with managers, employees, and peers.
- Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information in an easily understood manner tailoring the communication to diverse audiences to facilitate understanding.
- Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work within established deadlines and time constraints.
- Demonstrated ability to act on own initiative and exercise professional judgment.
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.Self-motivated, working independently, as well as being part of a team.
