Job description

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Sr. SpecialistLearning and Development is to perform work in developing, evaluating, facilitating, and administering training and Development programs including establishing training requirements, developing training resources and preparing training materials. 

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Research, develop, design, modify, update, facilitate and evaluate training initiatives, including developing training resources, and preparing training materials, checklists, and aids.
  • Support and implement the design, development and execution of performance-based programs and processes.
  • Lead processes and organize activities in the Venetian Resort summer intern program in conjunction with department leadership.
  • Design and develop in-person and virtual leadership development programs and partner with department leadership to implement.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and business leaders to assess needs and identify Learning and Development solutions which integrate with the overall Learning and Development strategy.
  • Design and develop content to support identified learning initiatives using industry standard techniques, processes, and software.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Administer training assessment program to include metrics to measure effectiveness and performance.
  • Contribute ideas, expertise and experience in strategy development and execution of organizational and Development programs.
  • Consistently look for and suggest ways to improve processes, procedures, interactions, service, and financial success and develop and update departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Facilitate training and Development programs in both in-person and virtual formats.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • 4+ years of experience related to Human Resources Organizational Development.
  • 3+ years of facilitation experience. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including PowerPoint.
  • Learning Management Software experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, performance consulting, training facilitation and evaluation and curriculum research and design preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel to create reports and utilize formulas.
  • Working knowledge of e-learning software including Articulate RISE.
Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Experience with DEI programs including design, development, and facilitation.
  • Must be able to work with others, communicate well, give directions, review the work of others, and provide guidance when needed to achieve department goals and objectives.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
