Sr. Manager, Gateways And Ground Ops Caribbean

In this dynamic role as the Senor Manager of Ground Operations at DHL Express Caribbean, you will be at the forefront of elevating service standards and fostering operational excellence. Your primary responsibility will be to lead and drive the enhancement of service quality and Ground operations across the organization. As a strategic leader, you will spearhead initiatives to optimize operational processes, ensure compliance with global service standards, and implement continuous improvement measures. Your influence will extend to collaborating with cross-functional teams, aligning service quality objectives with business goals, and leveraging your expertise to create a customer-centric culture.
Key Tasks:
• Cost and Productivity Management:
• Monitor and evaluate each Service Center & Gateway's progress in managing cost and productivity.
• Recommend changes related to cost control, time and motion, work standards, work methods, personnel utilization, service, and quality.
• Contract Evaluation and Route Efficiency:
• Perform evaluations of 3rd party brokerage and PUD contracts and evaluate country efficiency.
• Operating Plans and Facility Resource Decision Making:
• Assist with short/long-term operating plans to ensure appropriate facility and operating resource decision making.
• Support on the BCA development for facilities and equipment.
• Project Management for Gateway and Ground Ops Execution:
• Assume project management responsibilities as necessary.
• Conduct studies to ensure roll outs are executed with discipline in all facilities.
• Gateway and PUD operational reviews:
• Lead Facility Reviews to highlight areas of opportunity and improvement.
• Performance KPI Review:
• Proactively interpret, analyze, and address key operational performance indicators to identify opportunities for service quality improvement and cost reduction.
• Perform weekly KPI reviews and follow up with lowest-performing stations.
• Key Account Support and Initiatives:
• Lead initiatives to support service issues with specific key accounts, supporting Commercial and COG teams.
• Internal Controls and Fleet Strategy:
• Support Internal Controls team with Gateway CRISP activity and efforts with Audits preparation & findings completion.
• Support country teams to develop Fleet strategy. Oversee the efficiency and economical operation and maintenance of all owned and leased vehicles.

• Safety & Security Compliance Monitoring and CIS Training:

• Monitor compliance of Optional Services & Surcharges (OS&S).
• Have an active involvement in the training and implementation of BIT applications.
• Regulatory Civil Aviation compliance

Skills and Qualifications
• Demonstrated expertise in Gateway processes, ground operations and logistics, recognized as a subject matter expert.
• Serves as a prime consultant on highly significant matters relating to policies, programs, capabilities, and long-range goals and objectives.
• Possesses excellent operational process knowledge, with a keen understanding of ground operations intricacies.
• Typically requires a BS/BA in a related discipline or equivalent work experiences
• Minimum of 5-10 years of leadership
• Interact effectively at cross-cultural, cross-divisional, and all business levels.
• Utilize informal and formal networks to build the commitment of senior stakeholders to outcomes with a major and lasting impact for the DHL Group.
• English fluency is essential.
• Proficiency in French and Spanish is a plus.
