WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE
The Senior Associate, Benefits will serve as the lead on the current and future benefit programs. The Senior Associate serves as a liaison with benefit service providers and technology partners. They also are responsible for the benefits functionality, reporting and auditing, eligibility, and census file interfaces. Ensures compliance with all laws. This position may have one direct report, Benefits Coordinator.
ResponsibilitiesHOW YOU ADD VALUE
- Provide project management for process improvement, implementations, and system developments
- Act as an escalation point between outside benefit vendors and employees
- Act as technical expert in HCM benefits system and use expertise to drive system improvements and performance.
- This role will have significant responsibilities on the project team that will lead and implement a successful launch of Workday Human Capital Management (HCM).
- Implement policies, develop and deliver communications, and execute project plans
- Monitor the effectiveness of existing benefits policies, processes, and procedures recommending revisions as needed
- Provide shared responsibility with the Benefits Coordinator on benefit administration, including overseeing enrollment and invoice processing
- Manage annual benefits renewal process, including identifying areas for improvement with benefit administration and implementing changes as needed
- Provide timely response and resolution to inquiries in the benefits inbox
- Drive the development and maintenance of HCM for all benefits functionalities including enrollment, dependents/beneficiaries, EOI, leave of absences, FMLA, etc.
- Collaborate with IT and payroll to ensure all integrations work properly and that benefits functionality in HCM is accurate.
- Develop and provide support for benefits report requests and benefits metrics.
- Perform routine benefits audits on data in the HCM system.
- Assist with the reporting compliance for ACA reporting, as well as other benefit compliance related reporting
- Assist with the onboarding of new portfolio companies on the benefits platform
- Present weekly new hire benefits orientation sessions and day to day benefit processing
- Manage US retirement plans, including hardships, loans and weekly contribution reporting
- Assist with workers' comp documentation and submission of claims
- Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.
Qualifications
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of benefits experience
- HRIS experience required, Workday experience preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Self-motivated with the ability to be flexible in fast-paced, changing environments
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, IRS Regulations, FMLA and Workers' Compensation
- Collaborative open approach to work and team members
- Excellent people skills with a focus on solutions to deliver the best service possible
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- Experience working in shared service environment or with outsourced service providers
