This position is a temporary position for the 23-24 school year only.
Primary Purpose:
Provide administrative support to district and campus level staff involving matters of a confidential nature.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to follow-up, and ability to work without direction Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally
Knowledge of common office productivity software and office equipment, required; Frontline eSped experience, preferred
Knowledge of school district organization and operations, preferred
Knowledge of Special Education forms and related paperwork and requirements, preferred
Experience:
Prior secretarial experience preferred
Prior experience working with students preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide assistance to campuses under the direction of the Special Programs Director to support students individually or in groups on various campuses
- Prepare, copy, and/or electronically distribute all necessary paperwork/electronic correspondence to facilitate ARD meetings.
- Prepare, copy, electronically distribute, and/or mail all compliance forms, IEP's, etc. to proper individuals.
- Perform general clerical tasks.
- Schedule student meetings with assessment personnel in a timely fashion.
- Process confidential correspondence between staff members, Department of Special Programs personnel, parents of special education students, and private providers such as psychologists, psychiatrists, or physicians.
- Maintain constant concentration and attention to a volume of work which must be completed within a limited period of time.
- Maintain confidentiality of all student, staff, and special education information.
- Maintain special education student folders.
- Transfer student files for those transitioning to/from other buildings or graduating.
- Participate in staff meetings and special events as assigned.
- Maintain consistent punctuality and regular attendance.
- Maintain positive community relations by establishing positive rapport with staff, students and parents.
