Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for an efficient and skilled Salon Manager to join our growing team and oversee all salon operations. The Salon Manager will be responsible for enforcing staff compliance around health and safety policies, identifying ways to increase salon revenue, effectively leading a dynamic team of 5-8 Sales Consulrants, and ensuring salon equipment is serviced and repaired as needed. This position will also be responsible for providing the District Manager with regular updates on salon activities. This individual should demonstrate strong management and leadership skills along with the ability to motivate staff members to achieve salon goals. The Salon Manager will play a key role in helping to achieve excellent customer service and ensuring clients have exceptional salon experiences. This position reports directly to the District Manager.

OBJECTIVES

  • Anticipate turnover, consistently screen and interview candidates, and recruit talented salon staff members that meet mandatory position requirements
  • Prepare work schedules for all salon staff members to ensure workflow demands are being met and/or exceeding sales goals and to ensure that all shifts are covered where and when necessary
  • Facilitate, track, and evaluate the daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance
  • Build and set goals for each staff member, evaluate staff performance, and provide training and overall guidance through the following:
    • Conducting one-on-one meetings
    • Reviewing performance evaluations
    • Reviewing individual personal, professional and financial goals
    • Conducting new hire check-ins
    • Coaching and corrective actions
  • Monitor salon supplies and equipment, replenish inventory when necessary to drive sales, and ensure the salon is clean and well-maintained at all times
  • Create and distribute promotional material to new clients and ensure the salon is executing new rollouts and embracing best practices
  • Communicate and implement company initiatives, policies, and procedures and effectively lead the team through necessary changes
  • Provide leadership to the salon staff members and promote, support, and facilitate teamwork that fosters a positive environment
  • Promote a culture of hospitality which nurtures client relationships and creates loyalty by addressing and resolving client complaints immediately and delivering a great experience for each client
  • Perform necessary steps to maintain working equipment when possible and monitor and follow up on facility and equipment issues through service requests and communication to minimize downtown
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

COMPETENCIES

  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of tanning and spa services, customers, procedures, and policies
  • Demonstrates proven experience in executing projects efficiently and within project deadlines and exceeding sales goals are targets for the location
  • Ability to resolve any issues or problems presented by clients or staff and create effective solutions with the utmost professionalism
  • Demonstrates strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to direct, manage, motivate, and mentor a team
  • Ability to collaborate with other executives and team members while working under pressure while considering the perspectives of multiple personalities
  • Demonstrates extensive experience juggling multiple projects and recurring duties simultaneously while ensuring efficient completion or projects within target deadlines and with sharp attention to detail
  • Possesses strong computer skills and highly proficient in MS Office Suite, Windows, Google Suite, and similar software programs
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Ability to attend and participate in internal meetings and complete required training within completion timeline
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional organization, administrative accountability, and great attention to detail
  • Ability to inspire the trust of others and work with integrity to uphold organizational values
  • Possesses strong supervisory and leadership skills along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours or weekends as needed to support occasional special projects and urgent target deadlines and responds to texts, emails, and phone calls from team outside of standard office hours

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Business Management or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience working in a salon or spa required
  • 5+ years of experience in progressive leadership required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged or intermittent periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Prolonged periods standing, walking, bending, or kneeling
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs at a time

Pay: $21-25 hourly DOE

Schedule:

  • 8.5 hour shifts
  • Requires open availability
  • Mondays & Tuesdays + 3 other days of the week (variable); rotating weekends
  • On call as necessary

Supplemental pay types:
