Responsible for coordinating and managing the details of banquet functions with in-house departments, clients, and vendors to ensure the successful execution of functions.
Prior experience in a Convention Services Required

Job Functions:
Experience with Salesforce/Amadeus to coordinate all sales account and catering bookings.
Coordinate and service all logistics of assigned groups from initial booking through meeting requirements and departure.
Disseminate group resumes which include profiles, agendas, and requirements to all Hotel operating departments in a timely and efficient manner.
Provide personalized "on the floor" attention to all in house groups.
Oversee standards and ensure training programs reflect appropriate team member development guidelines.
Anticipate needs and analyzes work processes for personnel in the department.
Provides the necessary training, motivation, and leadership for all department personnel.
Spot check meeting room setups.
Creates and maintains a good working relationship with the Banquet team to ensure an elite level of client services.
Attends revenue, BEO, and resume meetings.
Conduct weekly team meetings.
Contact client regarding meeting requests, master account inclusions, direct billing procedures, vendor rental, and set up.
Follow up with client to develop itinerary to satisfy the needs of both the client and the company.
Coordinate details of function with appropriate departments; provide notification of changes.
Maintain inventory of all hotel equipment, including audio-visual requirements. Arrange for rental of audio-visual equipment from outside vendor if required.
Handle personnel-related matters including but not limited to interviewing, hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, evaluating, counseling, and discharging.
Initiative in identifying and resolving issues timely and effectively.
Self-Starter who can work independently and, on several tasks, simultaneously, and who can contribute to functional areas of the business.
Position Requirements:
Must have highly developed customer service skills with strong attention to detail.
Prior experience in a Convention Services or banquet management required.
3+ years of department head experience in an upscale hotel required.
5+ years of upscale hotel catering and/or convention experience required.
Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Must have strong working knowledge of banquet functions, room sets, A/V, and Food and Beverage.
Must be computer literate and able to effectively use Microsoft Office applications, experience with the Salesforce system beneficial.
Must have exceptional communication skills.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
